ArtsFarmington

Arts Institute of Western Maine โ€” doing business as ArtsFarmington! โ€” has been bringing live performances to Farmington since 1971. We are a volunteer-run, all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization affiliated with the University of Maine at Farmington. Our mission is to inspire, enrich, educate, and entertain the communities of the greater Farmington area by presenting a broad array of affordable, high-quality arts events. From classical chamber music and string quartets to community-built visual arts experiences, we believe diverse arts experiences โ€” featuring both local and non-regional artists โ€” give vitality to community life. We perform primarily at the historic Nordica Auditorium on the UMF campus, named for the legendary Maine-born opera singer Lillian Nordica, with additional events at the Emery Community Arts Center, Farmington Public Library, and the Nordica Homestead Museum. Ticket sales cover only a portion of what it takes to bring world-class performers to Western Maine. Members, donors, and business sponsors keep the lights on โ€” and the music playing.
